Elementary Principal - Katie Brister

Welcome to Silo Elementary!

I am Katie Brister, Elementary Principal. These are the "superheroes" of the elementary office.

I graduated from Silo High School in 1999. That year my teammates and I won the very 1st State Championship at Silo in Girls' Basketball.  I went on to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University where I majored in English Education and earned a minor in Spanish. I spent a summer of college in Saltillo, Mexico learning to speak Spanish. After graduating from SOSU, I took my first teaching and coaching job in Clovis, CA. I taught 9th English and coached high school girls' basketball. California was too far from home so I returned to Bryan County and took a job at Achille teaching 7th & 8th Science, 6th Spelling, Spanish I & II,  & 3rd & 4th PE. I earned my Masters in School Counseling at SOSU and after two years at Achille I came to Silo to teach 9th & 10th English and serve as Elementary Counselor in 2006-2007. I went on to earn my School Psychologist Certification from ECU and my Administration Certification from SOSU.   I took over as full-time Elementary Counselor and served in that capacity until 2011-2012 when I filled the Elementary Principal position and remain there currently.

I am married to Brad Brister. We have 3 boys, Nolan, Bryce, & Kale.
