To apply for federal student aid, such as federal grants, work-study, and loans, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Completing and submitting the FAFSA is free and easier than ever, and it gives you access to the largest source of financial aid to pay for college or career school.
In addition, many states and colleges use your FAFSA information to determine your eligibility for state and school aid, and some private financial aid providers may use your FAFSA information to determine whether you qualify for their aid.
The first day to apply for FAFSA is October 1, 2018. Use the website FAFSA.gov to apply as other site charge for this FREE service.
During Parent/Teacher Conference on Tuesday, October 16th at 5:00 PM in the South Computer Lab representatives for SOSU will be at Silo to help parents and seniors sign up for FAFSA. You will need to bring your 2016 & 2017 Federal Income Tax Returns to apply. Students and parents need to create a FSA student ID BEFORE October 1st. Most created one with Mrs. Hankey at the school.
