Camp Goddard Reminders

*Students need to be at school at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 3.

*Students will leave for Camp Goddard Monday, December 3 by 9:00.

*Students should bring all gear with them to school that day.

*Students will return from Camp Goddard Thursday, December 6 @ 2:30 p.m.

*Student must be brought and picked up from school…they cannot take their camping gear on the bus. (Be sure you pick them up at 2:30 p.m.)

*Check in all medication with Mrs. Bennett on Monday, December 3 by 8:15.

*Parent Day is Thursday, December 6.  Thursday morning at 9:00 a.m. you may join your child in the museum and take your child home from Camp Goddard.

CAMP GODDARD TRIP

has been changed to December 3-6!!!

Make sure they pack their Camp Goddard shirts!

What to Bring

--Bedding (Sleeping bag or sheets and warm blanket, pillow)

--3 towels

--Toiletries (Soap, toothbrush, deodorant, shampoo, chapstick, etc.)

--Hiking shoes (tennis shoes or boots)

--Shoes/House slippers to wear in cabin

--Warm jacket/Rain repellent if possible

--Pants must be worn for all hiking trails (Not fuzzy sweatpants)

Average high temperature: 58   Low temperature: 25 at night

--Pajamas (pants and shirt)

--Toboggan and gloves

--Hoodie/sweatshirt

--Flashlight

--Drawstring backpack

*Medication should be in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name and instructions on the bag!  Make sure you check it in with Mrs. Bennett on Monday morning, December 3 by 8:15 a.m.!

*You will need to provide transportation for your child to school on Monday morning, December 3 @ 8:00 a.m. and pick them up at school Thursday afternoon, December 6 @ 2:30 p.m.!

Update on Camp Goddard

 

 Dates-December 3-6 (Monday-Thursday) We will leave from the school Monday morning, and return Thursday afternoon.

 

 Parent Meeting: There will be a mandatory parent meeting Sept. 5 at 7:30 a.m. & 4:15 p.m. and Sept. 6 at 7:30 a.m. & 4:15 p.m.  You will only be required to attend one meeting.

 

 Permission Slip:  Must be turned in by August 30th!!!

 

Cost- Silo Schools has agreed to pay for the students to attend, but to help, any additional financial support will help defray the costs. This will help to cover the cost of snacks, water, presentations, and any additional costs which may arise. Instead of a cash donation you are welcome to donate cases of water, drinks, snacks, smore supplies, etc.

 

T-shirt:  Don’t forget to send $10.00 for the cost of your child’s shirt by Sept. 7th.

Camp Goddard Information

MUST BE RETURNED THURSDAY, AUGUST 30!

 

What is Camp Goddard? –Goddard Youth Camp provides us with a great overnight camping experience. Nestled in the Arbuckle Mountains, it is home to the convergence of four, unique, ecosystems. While camping, the activities will cover a range of curriculum areas, as well as promote teambuilding.

            -Housing will be in cabins

            -3 meals per day

            -May bring snacks

-Will need bedding, toiletries, and a sturdy pair of walking shoes (a more detailed packing list will be provided later)

This is the week of Fall Break. We will leave from the school Monday morning, and return Wednesday afternoon.

 

Cost- Silo Schools has agreed to pay for the students to attend, but to help, any additional financial support will help defray the costs. This will help to cover the cost of snacks, water, presentations, and any additional costs which may arise. T-Shirt- We ask that you send $10.00 for the cost of your child’s shirt by Sept. 7th.  If your child is not attending Camp Goddard with us and wants a shirt, you are more than welcome to purchase one for them.  We will be using them for all class trips!

 

Requirements to Attend-

No out-of-school suspensions.

No more than 2 office referrals Wednesday, August 09-Friday, October 13.

Must be passing all classes at time of trip.

Final decisions for attendance will be at the principal’s discretion.

 

Activities include: Volleyball, Hiking, Archery, Canoes, Fishing, Fossil Dig, Campfire, Museum Exhibit

 

Parent Meeting: There will be a mandatory parent meeting.

Camp Goddard General Rules

Practice Safety:

  1. Campers must be with an adult at all times. Stay with your group on the trails and in camp activities.
  2. Wear shoes that cover the entire foot (tennis shoes, hiking boots) at all times.
  3. Snakes must be left alone. Alert an adult.

Respect Camp Property:

  1. All trails and cabin areas are to be kept litter free.
  2. Plants and other natural things are to be left alone, except as directed.
  3. No gum allowed.

Emergency:

***The emergency bell will ring continuously. Everybody is to go to the storm shelter at the museum.

Dining Hall Rules:

  1. Be on time to all meals.
  2. Dress appropriately.
  3. While waiting stand in line orderly. Do not throw rocks or push, or hang on roof.
  4. Listen to and be respectful of all dining all workers.
  5. You may have seconds after everyone has been served.
  6. Clean up after yourself. You must throw away all trash and wipe down dining tables.

Other:

***Cell phones will be allowed, with limitations, as directed by Mrs. Brister.

***Medication must be properly labeled. Please send in a Ziploc bag with child’s name.
