About Joan Impson

     Hello, my name is Joan Impson and I am the Silo 6th Grade Social Studies teacher.  It is an honor and pleasure

to have your child in my class.  Please feel free to call the school if you ever need to visit with me about any problem

your child may have with his or her class.

     I was born in Bokchito, Oklahoma.  I attended elementary and middle school in Amarillo, Texas.  My family moved

back to Bokchito, and I graduated from Bokchito High School.  I attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University

and graduated with a B.S. Degree in Education.  My first job was teaching remedial reading at Mead School.  Mead

became Silo School and I have taught at Silo for 48 years.  In the summer of 1976 I obtained my Masters of Behavior

Studies from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Oklahoma.

     My husband is Mike Impson and I have two sons, Tom and Chris.  I also have 2 grandchildren who attend Silo School

and I have one grandchild who graducated from Silo High School.  I also feel that my former students are part of my family.
