System Administrator / Helpdesk Supervisor

Position Overview
Silo Public Schools is seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator / Helpdesk Supervisor to join our technology team. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for managing and administering our device and user ecosystems while leading and mentoring a team of helpdesk technicians to deliver exceptional technical support to faculty, staff, and students.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration
- Administer and manage endpoints and devices using Microsoft Intune (MDM/MAM policies, device enrollment, compliance, and configuration profiles)
- Manage user accounts, organizational units, and policies via Google Admin Console (Workspace, Chromebook management, app deployment)
- Maintain and monitor cloud-based services and district-wide software platforms
- Manage identity and access controls across Active Directory and Google Workspace
- Maintain system documentation, asset inventory, and IT procedures
Helpdesk Supervision
- Lead, schedule, and mentor a team of helpdesk technicians
- Oversee ticket queue management and ensure timely resolution of support requests
- Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-priority technical issues
- Develop and refine helpdesk procedures, knowledge base articles, and onboarding materials
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching for support staff
- Collaborate with IT leadership to align support operations with district goals
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune for device management and policy deployment
- Proficiency with Google Admin Console and Google Workspace administration
- Experience supervising or leading a technical support team
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and mobile platforms
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a K-12 or higher education environment
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks or ticketing systems (e.g., Freshdesk, Jira, Zendesk)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Google IT Support Professional, or Microsoft certifications
